It costs $200-$300 per student for us to provide a year's quality college education to men in a prison where we have an established program. It costs us about $500 per student to open a new branch at another prison. Our biggest expense is for textbooks, reference books, videos, computers, office supplies and postage. If you'd like to send a tax deductible donation to help us continue this vital work, please mail a check payable to Rising Hope, Inc. to:

Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house? When you see the naked, to cover them, and not to hide yourself from your neighbor? Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly.
    Isaiah 58:6-8

The most significant contribution I received from the CMHS program was the challenge that it posed. It elicited the best of my mental capacity as it helped me realize I have what it takes to make a difference. I saw little hope and lacked motivation. I now see purpose and meaning in even the small things in life. Having concluded that I can indeed make a difference, not just in my life but the lives of others as well, gives me the energy and motivation to keep on keeping on.
