Rising Hope Fellowship Program
Following our 30th Anniversary Celebration, it became clear that Rising Hope alumni possess an extraordinary wealth of talent and a strong desire to give back to the Rising Hope community.
We are proud to announce that beginning in Fall 2026, we will launch our first-ever initiative welcoming alumni back to teach in Rising Hope classrooms.
The Rising Hope Fellowship Program is a paid opportunity that enables alumni to contribute to the community while receiving professional development and mentorship in the art and science of teaching.

Coming Home Programs
Leaving prison is the first critical step in reentry and reintegration. But it is only the first step in the journey that is coming home. Reentry programs and resources are essential in making progress in your journey. But those programs often are not able to provide the human support and moral and spiritual sustenance that you experienced in Rising Hope, the same spirit which sustained you through the ordeal of incarceration.
Rising Hope is fortunate to have partners who understand how important this is. Communities for Healing and Justice has a Coming Home program at Union Theological Seminary. Central Synagogue also offers an employment-focused Teshuvah Community . Rye Presbyterian Church also has a long-running Coming Home program. Many of your fellow Rising Hope alumni are alumni of these programs also.
These programs typically run from 20 to 26 weeks, and during that time each person works one-on-one with a volunteer partner to set and achieve short and long-term goals and connect with the community and other resources. Meals are provided, transportation costs are covered, and a stipend is paid on completion of the program.
The next cohorts are forming in October. If you are a new returning citizen, or if you think you need an opportunity to reset in your coming home journey, then these programs are for you. For more information, please visit the CHJ website or contact us: info@risinghopeinc.org for more information.
